ACADEMICS

At Sainik School Sujanpur Tira, academic excellence is given prime importance. Special efforts are made to create and maintain academic environment in the school. Cadets are encouraged to ‘Explore and Learn’ in addition to classroom teaching.

EXAMINATIONS

Examinations are conducted at regular intervals to ensure continuous study and also as feed back mechanism on the progress made by the cadets in each subject. The cadets are awarded various torches as recognition to their efforts put in during the entire session as per the following criteria:

(a)	90% and above	:	GOLD TORCH
(b)	85% and above	:	SILVER TORCH
(c)	80% and above	:	BRONZE TORCH
(d)	First in Class	:	TORCH-FIRST IN CLASS
(e)	Second in Class	:	TORCH-SECOND IN CLASS

CBSE and NDA

The academic curriculum is based on CBSE syllabus and the school has maintained high standards of result in CBSE examination. The School has the distinction of bagging the “Raksha Mantri’s trophy" for sending maximum number of cadets to NDA in 1984 and 1988. Cadets have also performed well in UPSC exam for NDA. Till 2010, 278 Cadets have joined NDA / NA and OTA/IMA/AFA.

NTSE

CADETS APPEAR EVERY YEAR FOR THE NTSE EXAMINATION. FOR THE SESSION 2009-10, 69 CADETS APPEARED FORTHE NTSE EXAM AND 17 CADETS QUALIFIED THE PHASE -1 EXAM AND ULIMATELY ONLY ABHISHEK BHANDARI (RNO. 2564) QUALIFIED THE PHASE -II EXAM. HE IS THE ONLY ONE CADET FROM HP STATE TO HAVE ACHIEVED THE NTSE SCHOLARSHIP. FOR THE SESSION 2011-12, OUT OF 66 CADETS WHO APPEARED FOR NTSE EXAM, 12 CADETS CLEARED THE FIRST LEVEL AND FINALLY 03 CADETS NAMELY KSHITIJ BHATIA(2828), ABHISHEK DAROCH (2825) AND PARISHRUT JASSAL (2780) HAVE QUALIFIED THE FINAL STAGE.

SCIENCE CONGRESS

Cadets participate every year in the H.P State Level Science Congress - Quiz, Model-competition, Skit, Origami and Project reports. They have also been participating in Mathematics Olympiad at the District and State level and have been winning prizes and the Overall Trophy.
